Die Erstausgabe der Schatzinsel erschien 1883 London. Stevenson hatte bei einem Kuraufenthalt 1880/81 bereits erste Skizzen angefertigt. Im Sommer '81 zeichnete er mit Lloyd, seinem Stiefsohn eine Schatzkarte, durch die er sich zu seiner Erzählung inspirieren lies. Der Romen erschien zuerst 1881/'82 als Mehrteiler in einer Jugendzeitschrift, erst später in Buchform.
About the author
Robert Louis Balfour Stevenson war ein schottischer Schriftsteller. Er wurde geboren am 13. November 1850 in Edinburgh und verstarb am 3. Dezember 1894 in Vailima nahe Apia, Samoa.
