About the author
Ernesto Sabato, 1911 in Rojas geboren, studierte Mathematik und Physik und forschte als Atomphysiker in Paris und Boston eine Tätigkeit, die er nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg zugunsten der Literatur aufgab. Er lebte in Buenos Aires und galt bis zu seinem Tod 2011 als Anwärter auf den Nobelpreis.
