About this ebook

Heart-stopping supernatural thriller from the master of suspense. Addison Goodheart is not like other people...

Addison Goodheart lives in solitude beneath the city, an exile from a society which will destroy him if he is ever seen.

Books are his refuge and his escape: he embraces the riches they have to offer. By night he leaves his hidden chambers and, through a network of storm drains and service tunnels, makes his way into the central library.

And that is where he meets Gwyneth, who, like Addison, also hides her true appearance and struggles to trust anyone.

But the bond between them runs deeper than the tragedies that have scarred their lives. Something more than chance – and nothing less than destiny – has brought them together in a world whose hour of reckoning is fast approaching.

This book grabbed me from the beginning took me on a journey, where even though I sought a map it let me know I didn't need one and it would guide me. It kept its promise but unfortunately the route had an end and I want to start again.

I would like to quote Walt Whitman : What do you think endures? Do you think the greatest city endures? Where the city of the healthiest fathers stands, Where the city of the best-bodied mothers stands, There the greatest city stands So is the theme of this good book, and I loved the ultimate happy ending where world without fear but true happiness of unconditional love to all souls Addison never loses hope and his good will like Batman he faces evil without being losing innocence Thank you Dean Koontz

Sight improvement in character development, compared to other books, but the story falls flat. I think Koontz just gets bored half way through writing his books and just wraps it all up any old how.
