About this ebook

What do you do after the worst has happened?

Psychic Serena Quinn is in for the fight of her life. Held captive by a centuries-old vampire master, she’s forced to battle him at every turn, matching him wit for wit. It’s up to Serena to do all she can to survive until Silas Drake, her lover, can save her from the vicious vampire's clutches.

But Serena’s new and terrifying visions are telling her something she can't quite comprehend. The series of visions suggest she is more entwined with her vile captor than she ever imagined. Will Serena’s future be forever connected to the ancient vampire, or will Silas find her before it’s too late?

Dead of Night, the second book in Christine Pope’s Watchers series takes up the tale of Serena Quinn and her lover Silas Drake. Serena has been kidnapped by master vampire Lucius Montfort. Most of the book takes place in Lucius’ house where Serena does her best to keep alert and find a way to escape and return to her lover, gula Silas Drake. The gula are gargoyle-like people who have been tasked over the years with keeping tracking vampires and keeping certain people, like Serena, safe. For Serena has visions, visions that normally come true, and Lucius Montfort intends to do everything he can to use them. As Silas searches frantically for Serena, her captor grills her about what visions she has. Finally Serena has visions that look like they may just help Lucius in his plan of outwitting the limitations that all vampires face and, incidentally, take control the world. I definitely enjoyed this book but I started to feel a little restless as it went along day after day and Serena remained a captive. With nothing to do but read Jane Austen and trying to outwit Lucius as much as possible, while at the same time looking for a way to escape from her captivity, it seemed a little slow to me. Interspersed with this, Silas continues his desperate search for Serena but when he finally finds her it may be too late. I count myself as an avid fan of Christine Pope’s writing so I look forward to her final book in this series with a great deal of curiosity.

I'm a lover of all things unique in styles of thought an writing. Serena is just getting started on a adventure to save her own life an that of family an friends. she often is alone with none who seem to value her gift, though often thought of as a curse. their are those whom would use it to curse the world. Will she survive long enough to see where a new life with a strange an unique lover. will he take her away to a new life of dreams evan she never imagined.

Poor Serena had just found love with Silas but Lucius Montfort had other ideas! Now held captive by him she is under constant supervision via CCTV and there is no way she can hide any visions from him. But when the visions take a decidedly weird turn Serena is left wondering just what they mean for her, Silas and Lucius! Silas is hunting for Serena but he has few details at hand to find her. With media attention on her family after the death of her sister, Serena is now a missing person and Silas will use any and all help to find her. He reaches out to her detective friend and together they manage to narrow down the search area. But will they find her before any plans Lucius has for her come to fruition? The book picks up where book 1 ended so there is a seamless transition between them. You can feel the increased desperation the Silas is experiencing and the sheer lack of clues he has to find Serena. Serena is doing her best to survive in Lucius' clutches, hoping against hope that Silas can find her. She is so conflicted by her visions and what they could mean but as Lucius' plans unfold, she attempts to fins ways that she could subvert them. Fab read!
