Emotions work to define who we are as well as shape what we do and this is no more powerfully at play than in the world of politics. Ahmed considers how emotions keep us invested in relationships of power, and also shows how this use of emotion could be crucial to areas such as feminist and queer politics. Debates on international terrorism, asylum and migration, as well as reconciliation and reparation, are explored through topical case studies. על המחבר
Sara Ahmed is Reader in Race, Ethnicity and Identity in the Media Department at Goldsmiths College, University of London. Her research interests are in feminist theory, critical race studies and postcolonial theory. Previous publications include Differences that Matter: Feminist Theory and Postmodernism (1998) and Strange Encounters: Embodied Others in Post-Coloniality (2000). She is an Associate Editor of International Journal of Cultural Studies and on the editorial boards of European Journal of Women's Studies, New Formations, borderlands and Culture, Theory and Critique.
