Owning a hedgehog is surprisingly easy. In addition to a food bowl and a water bottle, all you need to buy for this animal is a cage with some fun hiding spots inside it. Since they are nocturnal, hedgehogs are awake in the evening hours when you are home from school. Don’t be startled if your hedgehog rolls into a ball when you pick it up, though. Many members of this species do this when they are frightened. The more your hedgehog gets to know you, the less it will do this.
