"Captain Blood: His Odyssey" is an adventure novel by Rafael Sabatini, published in 1922. The story follows the protagonist, Dr. Peter Blood, an Irish physician with a diverse background as a soldier and sailor. After being arrested during a rebellion, Blood is convicted of treason and transported to Barbados. There, he becomes a skilled physician and forms a connection with Arabella Bishop, the niece of his owner. Blood escapes with fellow convicts, becomes a successful pirate, and eventually receives a pardon after the Glorious Revolution. The novel ends with the implication that Blood will marry Arabella and become the governor of Jamaica.
