Op de avond voordat Eline met haar klas op excursie gaat, verongelukt Tim met zijn brommer. Eline had nog maar net verkering met Tim, en bijna niemand weet ervan. Ze wordt niet gewaarschuwd en stapt nietsvermoedend in de bus. Als Eline het nieuws pas bij thuiskomst hoort, is ze intens verdrietig. Ook Tims broer heeft het zwaar. Hij is boos en voelt zich door Tim in de steek gelaten. Als hij Eline tegenkomt, zoeken de twee steun bij elkaar. Maar het lijkt wel of ze allebei een totaal andere Tim kenden...
