I just love this book - it’s definitely one of my all time favourites in this genre and kicks off the dire wolves series in explosive fashion! Derrick is the perfect hero and Lucy’s sassy personality compliments his really well. I like how the wolves are introduced, setting the scene for them to each have their own stories down the road. There is plenty of fun banter and sizzling chemistry with the start of future plot lines thrown in too, (such as the anti shifter group).

This is a captivating read. Lucy, a sassy she-cat, is broke and stranded. Derrick, Dire wolf Alpha, is contemplating if settling in Blue Valley was the right decision for his pack. That is until his mate walks in looking for a job. Only thing is she doesn't want a mate. Derrick is a patient man, and the best things in life are worth the wait! Hot and steamy slow building romance. C.D. Gorri did an excellent job with this book, I enjoyed this read from the beginning. I absolutely love these kind of romances. Sexy hot Alphas in leathers what's not to love! A must read!!!. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The level of profanity in this book surprised me. I don’t like swearing in books and wish authors would warn if their books have a lot of profanity in the blurb so I can simply skip it. Multiple s-words in the prologue… that and the F-bomb in the subsequent first chapter. And from the heroine. No thanks! The pacing was off, too. In this quick-read novella, the author wastes valuable early chapters on things that don’t matter or could be quickly dealt with without slowing the book's momentum.
