Getting Away for Christmas . . . I can almost feel the exhaustion that single mom Sophie Wilkins is feeling in this heartwarming Christmas story. Her children are being difficult (teenagers) and draining her energy. And dealing with her persistent ex-husband Jeremy who won’t leave her alone is draining. So the trip to the Scottish campsite resort, Log Fire Cabins, seems like a spot for peace and quiet in the middle of the pine forest. Will this time away be everything she hopes it is? Even when Jeremy steals the vehicle that has everyone’s gifts in the back? The story has humor and lots of interaction among the characters. Grab your copy and see if their Christmas turns out the way they all envisioned it!

Christmas at Log Fire Cabins is not the usual Christmas story. As all Christmas stories, it brings joy, laughter, and a sense of those good times we had in the past, however, it leaves a strong message: do not procrastinate, live each day as if it were your last and could provide a miracle; give space to those who are learning (in spite of age), and try to learn with them; expect the unexpected and act as if it were normal; always give a second chance to everyone and everything in life. The story is written with good humor, and with a lot of respect for everything and everyone who does not fit the box and is unusual, and provides the reader with good entertainment and food for thought. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
