A good sequel to Heroes Die. Heroes Die was action-packed, but this book is more cerebral, and even philosophical at times. It got me thinking about whether an author had ever tried writing a series of books that spanned different genres: volume 1 is fantasy, volume 2 is alternative history, volume 3 is science fiction, volume 4 is romance, etc.
A third book in the series is due for release soon (as of Oct 2008), with two more planned after that.

About the author
Matthew Woodring Stover is the acclaimed author of Heroes Die, Iron Dawn, and Jericho Moon. He is a student of the Degerberg Blend. This jeet kune do concept is a mixture of approximately twenty-five different fighting arts from around the world and forms the basis for Caine’s combat style in the novels. He lives in Chicago, Illinois, with artist and writer Robyn Fielder.
