I absolutely loved this steamy romance! King has kept his hands off his employee, Kitty, because he doesn't "do" innocent young women. Until Kitty, desperate for money to pay off a truly sinister villain, offers herself for auction. I loved the way King came to her rescue without wanting to ask himself why he did. When he finds out part of her secrets, all bets are off and the attraction between these two really explodes. Ah, but there are more secrets to be shared, and I loved how that made King reevaluate every assumption he'd made about Kitty. One of the things I love most about historicals is the more black and white approach to justice, especially how it was swiftly and thoroughly delivered in this story. King and Kitty are a perfect match, opposites in most ways but entirely on the same page where it counts. Their HEA was sweetly satisfying, and I couldn't have loved this book more. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
