‘If you love The Girl on the Train read Behind Closed Doors’ Elle

‘Twists our expectations of the entire psychological thriller genre’ Guardian

Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace. He has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You might not want to like them, but you do.

You’d like to get to know Grace better.

But it’s difficult, because you realise Jack and Grace are never apart.

Some might call this true love. Others might ask why Grace never answers the phone. Or how she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn’t work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. And why there are bars on one of the bedroom windows.

Sometimes, the perfect marriage is the perfect lie.

The story was not believable.. i got fed up with how pathetic it was .she could of Done any number of things to escape while in public but didnt and the ending felt rushed/abrupt . The story just wasn't plausible . Even the weakest woman could of and would of walked out of that situation . It wasnt like a real life domestic abuse situation where sometimes women find it hard to leave for any number of reasons and understandably so . This was just stupid to the point it was annoying

Worth 4 stars, and reading.. the ending let me down leading me to think is this it, however it was a decent read & is worth the money and I would read other books by the author in the future.. The author could have given more detail about the characters which we didn't know much about & put more effort into the ending which I found abrupt and slightly terrible.. Yet the storyline & 90% of the book is very decent. Would make a very good film.

The premise is really captivating, but my preference is to discover motives and be shown the story and personalities, rather than told. I found some elements to be a bit forced - characters' motivations and plans were a little over explained, which came across as unnatural during dialogue. Personal preference, though. Thanks for a good read.
