very useful. good for a novice and for the one that wants to get to the next level. one can make good progress with the simple techniques of controlling the pencil, the discipline of drawing. understanding light, perspective, shading, it's all in progression, and that's just the beginning. I highly recommend this to anyone that wants to learn or just get better or even learn a technique that will refine their work. the concept of understanding light would certainly help anyone that likes to paint stills and needs just a little help adding a new dimension to their work.

This book is very different from the ones I've read. It really starts from the very basic fundamental. The exercises to learn to concentrate on the lines or strokes you're drawing are great. The best.
