About this eBook

Argyle Fox, with his signature style, wants to play outside on a springtime day, but the wind is wreaking havoc with his fun and games. As soon as he builds a card tower, climbs into a giant spider web, or takes up his pirate sword, here comes the wind: Woosh! Mama Fox tells grumpy Argyle that if he thinks long enough, he will come up with something to do. Following his mother's suggestion and inspired by her knitting, he works all the pieces of his day together and creates the perfect solution. The story of Argyle teaches that failure is often a path to success and celebrates perseverance, creative thinking, and an old-fashioned springtime activity.

Argyle Fox is a kit who lives in a tree with his knitting mum and has lots of friends in the nearby forest and meadow. One day he has a case of the wiggles and wants to go outside to play but everything he tries is ended by a great gust of wind. Finally, he tries one last time and it works for him and all of his friends, too! Loved the story and the exceptional illustrations! Need one for the local library and as gifts for distant grands! ESL friendly. I requested and received a free temporary ebook copy from Tanglewood Publishing via NetGalley. Thank you!

Fun, Cute Story about a Resourceful Fox This is a superbly Illustrated and cute book about a resilient and resourceful young fox who is determined to play in the wind. The bulk of the book is all of his wrong choices and what happens when what he plays with blows away. He comes back to the house dejected, but his mother suggests there is an activity that he can do in the wind if he just thinks about it. He figures it out and ultimately has a grand time. It was fun to see him work through all these ideas you knew just wouldn't work out. The author used a similar “scene” pattern where the fox goes some place to do an inappropriate activity, a critter there tells him it won't work to do that in the wind, he tries anyway, and then “wooosh,” was he's playing with gets scattered by the wind. The illustrations are cute and colorful. All in all, this is a fun book a child who might be a little frustrated by not being able to do certain activities in certain weather would enjoy. It's also just a fun book to be enjoyed at any time. I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
