About this ebook

The tale of Prince Ahmed and the Fairy Paribanou, as narrated by Scheherazade in the Arabian Nights, unfolds around the Sultan of the Indies and his three sons—Hussain, Ali, and Ahmed—who compete for the love of their cousin, Princess Nouronnihar.

The Sultan challenges each prince to find a remarkable treasure, leading to Hussain's magical flying carpet, Ali's extraordinary ivory telescope, and Ahmed's miraculous apple, which ultimately cures Nouronnihar's illness. Despite Ahmed's success in healing Nouronnihar, the competition for her affection remains unresolved, culminating in an archery contest won by Ali.

Following this event, Ahmed embarks on a quest to retrieve a lost arrow and encounters Paribanou, a beautiful woman living in a mysterious cave.

Their love flourishes, but Ahmed faces the dilemma of returning to a father who believes him to be dead. Paribanou advises him to keep their relationship secret.

As Ahmed's fortunes rise, their love attracts the attention of the royal court, inciting jealousy in the Sultan. A sorceress is sent to investigate, leading to the discovery of Paribanou's hidden palace.

In response, the Sultan imposes a series of seemingly impossible tasks on Ahmed, including finding a tent that is both small and large, retrieving magical healing water from a lion-guarded fountain, and locating a dwarf with a long beard.

With Paribanou's assistance, Ahmed successfully completes these challenges, including finding Schaibar, Paribanou's powerful half-brother.

Their return to the palace sets the stage for a confrontation with the Sultan.
