A Dad for Charlie

A delightful story that will keep you reading until you finish. You wont want to put the book down! I'm always a sucker for a tenderhearted man who "falls in love" with a child but when that man is a police officer, he rates extra high with me! Fletcher has a strong bond with Charlie - a darling girl being raised by a single mother in Butterfly Harbor. Charlie really wants a dad now that her best friend, Simon, got a dad (through marriage). She and Simon start cooking up some great ideas to get her mom, Paige and Fletch together! Paige actually likes Fletch and vice versa but Paige is hiding a secret and she's on the run so she thinks she can't have a relationship because she and Charlie might have to pick up and move on any day. Fletch knows that Paige is hiding something but he doesn't know what and he'd loved for her to confide in him. They work together to solve some break-ins in town so they get to know each other better. I loved the antics of Charlie and Simon! Such smart yet mischevious kids! The other town residents were great too. Each one added to the story so well. Ms. Stewart is great at involving the whole town in her books! It's why I enjoy them so much! I highly recommend this one - perfect for summer!
