This is book two in The States of Love Series and it is Boone and Quinn's story. Boone lives alone in Alaska and that is just the way he likes it until a woman shows up on his doorstep with two children in tow and Boone finds out that they are his niece and nephew and he is there guardian after his brother and sister in law died but No-one is not happy about the situation as he likes his solitude but what he doesn't realise is that this will completely change his life. When Quinn's best friend died she decided to take the two children to Alaska herself to make sure that everything will be ok but what she finds is a grumpy man that seems set in his ways so she decides to stay for a while to make sure that the children get settled if that was at all possible after what they had been through. The attraction and chemistry between Boone and Quinn was so strong that you find yourself hoping that they can sort everything out and get a chance to become a family but they will have to get over a lot of hurdles for that to happen. I absolutely loved this book and the storyline pulled you in right from the start and kept you turning the pages to see what would happen next and I definitely recommend you read this book as it is so well written and worth reading. I Voluntarily Reviewed a Copy of This Book.

When Quinn shows up at Boone’s place with Cleo and Jace, his niece and nephew, he’s not happy. He wants her to take them back to New York with her to live. That’s not what Tanner, his brother, and Macy, Quinn’s best friend, wanted though. They made him the kid’s legal guardian, in the event of their deaths. No spoilers, so grab your copy and see what happens. I will say there are some tense moments and not only from the adults. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Boone lives deep in Alaska wild country with his wolf Sheba. When his brother and wife die in a car accident, his two kids Cleo and Jace are brought to his place by their moms best friend Quinn. The adjusting to life in Alaska after growing up in New York City was expertly written. Loved the bear situation. The characters start off harsh but quickly become like close family and caring and support change into the mix. The storyline was terrific, with unique events to Alaska, rescues, careful considerations, the kids learning to be happy again, and much more. The entertaining situations and banter between Quinn and Boone are fantastic. Loved how the kids were proud of catching their own fish for supper and Quinn finding her path. Terrific ending and intro into the next story regarding her sister Kendall. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

About the author

Ann Omasta is a USA Today bestselling author.

Ann’s Top Ten list of likes, dislikes, and oddities:

1.     I despise whipped cream. There, I admitted it in writing. Let the ridiculing begin.

2.     Even though I have lived as far south as Key Largo, Florida, and as far north as Maine, I landed in the middle.

3.     If I don't make a conscious effort not to, I will drink nothing but tea morning, noon, and night. Hot tea, sweet tea, green tea––I love it all.

4.     There doesn't seem to be much in life that is better than coming home to a couple of big dogs who are overjoyed to see me. My other family members usually show significantly less enthusiasm about my return.

5.     Singing in my bestest, loudest voice does not make my family put on their happy faces. This includes the big, loving dogs referenced above.

6.     Yes, I am aware that bestest is not a word.

7.     Dorothy was right. There's no place like home.

8.     All of the numerous bottles in my shower must be lined up with their labels facing out. It makes me feel a little like Julia Roberts' mean husband from the movie Sleeping with the Enemy, but I can't seem to control this particular quirk.

9.     I love, love, love finding a great bargain!

10.  Did I mention that I hate whipped cream? It makes my stomach churn to look at it, touch it, smell it, or even think about it. Great––now I'm thinking about it. Ick!
