About the author

Andrew Murray (1828-1917) was born in South Africa. After receiving his education in Scotland and Holland, he returned to South Africa and spent many years there as a pastor and missionary. He is the author of many devotional books, including Humility and Teach Me to Pray. He and his wife, Emma, raised eight children.
