We have been learning a lot about the freedom struggle of India since school days. We have been taught various moments which were taken up by our freedom fighters to give us freedom and yes, they were sucessful. The Armed Struggle is an ingenious non-fiction by author Aman who documented the various events that changed the course of history from 1900-1947. Also, we are not completely aware about the freedom struggle. We hardly know about movements which were taken up by Mahatma Gandhi. Author Aman has described us another movement which was armed. We get to know more about other freedom fighters who fought for us. Leaders like Aurobindo Ghosh, V. Savarkar, Subhash Chandra Bose are talked about in the book and about their great deeds. These great leaders too were involved and they are responsible for the independence of our country. Reading through and through gave me a lot of information which I never knew or which I never thought of. Our freedom fighters went through a lot and their struggles are worth reading for. These armed forces need to be heard by everyone of us. The chapters are followed by a bibliography and being a research student I'm intrigued to do research on some topics. This bibliography can help us to do the same and go to the depth of the topic. I must say the book is very well-researched. The language is pretty simple and easy to grasp. The cover of the book is simple and the book is totally informative because it gives us insight about the freedom fighters. The unsung leaders are recognized in The Armed Struggle. This book is a must read for everyone who is intetested to know more about freedom struggles.

We have always been taught since our childhood that India got her Independence through the non-violence movement of Mahatma Gandhi. We have never been made aware of those brave freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India's freedom. Author Aman Chaudhary through his extensive research gives us the unbiased history of India and it's brace soldiers who took upon the armed struggle with the only aim of releasing India from the clutches of the British. It's very shameful and disappointing to see how the Indian government since the Independence has very cleverly neglected the sacrifices of these brave freedom fighters and gave the credit of Independence to the non-violence movement of M.Gandhi and has no reference to these heroes in our textbooks. This book talks about Subhash Chandra Bose, Aurobindo Ghosh, Veer Savarkar and many such freedom fighters and their movements and struggles. It talks about the revolutionary movements from 1900 - 1947 which was the real freedom struggle. I liked how the author had included the timeline along with visuals and newspaper articles at the end of each chapter. My only disappointment with the book was its formatting. This book is a Must Read for all the Indians.

Indian Freedom struggle is a vast subject. We mostly know about our freedom struggle from one angle that is it's non violence side led by M.K.Gandhi as it more emphasized on in our school textbooks. But in Armed struggle book, Author presents to us another facet of the national struggle which was armed and took place inside and even outside of India. Needless to tell these events played a major role in uprooting British Raj. The book is nicely arranged which talks about such historical events and leaders who took impactful part. Here we can read more facts about different freedom fighters like V.Savarkar, Aurobindo ghosh ,S.C.Bose, many more along with events like Alipur Bomb Case, Kakori Conspiracy, Pahartali European club attack, British High ranking officer assassination, etc inside and outside our country, that shook the foundation of the British Raj. This book is divided into 5 parts with visual maps, reference from newspaper cuttings and books and helps to enrich our knowledge.
