I liked this book. The story was engaging, and it held my interest and kept me entertained. Lindsay and Shane had good chemistry, and I thought their romance was quite swoony and very romantic.

Delightful and heartwarming romance! This one line sums up the entire storyline better than anything I can say: "They’d married each other to avoid marriage to… each other." If you want to know how that's even possible, then buckle up and hang on for an emotional, action-packed love story of feuding clans and broken hearts and duty vs. the heart. Shane and Lindsay meet while they're both avoiding their familial responsibilities, the chemistry between them strong enough to keep them avoiding the inevitable as long as possible. Shane is honorable but still tortured by his past; Lindsay is resourceful and strong despite the trauma she's endured. I really enjoyed the plot structure - the reader knows everything that Shane and Lindsay don't yet know about each other, and that suspense adds so much depth to their actions and assumptions. Once the secrets are out, though, things get even more complicated as the rest of their families discover what's been going on right under their noses. The author gave us a strong cast of secondary characters with a few set up for their own upcoming romances, and I am looking forward to reading each one. Everything I've read by this author has been outstanding, and I highly recommend this stellar start to a new series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
