*Spoilers I guess* I really thought this was going to have a happy ending. Even knowing he was never really a good guy, I still believed this book at least would end somewhat positively. I do wish he'd faced more consequences for his actions, but I'm pretty sure that's the point. It's interesting, to relate so deeply to a villain. Something about the way he's destroying his own relationships, not always intentionally - and I love that he's actually an unreliable narrator, falling back on the excuse that he doesn't realise what he's doing (even inside his own head) until he's forced to admit it out loud. And I believed him, sympathized with him, to the point where I was starting to think people were just blaming him for accidentally opening up to him lol. I loved that about his character, that not even as a reader could you tell when he was using it, almost like he was using his power on you. It's a shame there aren't more books yet, but I'm definitely going to binge the podcast now.
