Another charming cozy by Daryl Wood Gerber, A Hint of Mischief finds fairy garden shop owner, Courtney compelled to solve the murder of one of her customer’s friends who happens to be a famous actress. There is no short of cuteness with Fiona, Courtney’s personal fairy, trying to gain her third set of wings through good deeds by helping Courtney solve the murder. There weren’t any over the top characters that I find in some cozies but most, if not all the characters had a realistic charm.

A Hint of Mischief by Daryl Wood Gerber is an enchanting cozy mystery. We return to Carmel-by-the Sea where Courtney Kelly owns Open Your Imagination. It was nice to catch up with Courtney, Joss, Fiona, Megan, Pixie, and Brady. I thought A Hint of Mischief was well-written with great characters. I like the author’s writing style. The mystery was well-plotted and fun to follow. A Hint of Mischief is a magical mystery with flitting fairies, fabulous fairy gardens, and a slain sorority sister.

Daryl Wood Gerber is the Agatha Award–winning, nationally bestselling author of the Fairy Garden Mysteries, the Cookbook Nook Mysteries, and the French Bistro Mysteries, as well as the Cheese Shop Mysteries written under the name Avery Aames. She also writes standalone suspense novels and the Aspen Adams Novels of Suspense. Prior to her career as a novelist, she was an actress with roles in television shows including Murder, She Wrote.
