About this audiobook

“…as I slept I dreamed a dream.”

So begins one of the most beloved stories in all of history. John’s Bunyan’s beautiful and moving allegory of Christian, the Pilgrim, on his perilous journey to the Celestial City, has touched hearts and minds for more than three hundred years.

Filled with unforgettable characters—Evangelist, Charity, Hypocrisy, Goodwill, Obstinate, and Mr. Worldly Wiseman—this wonderful story offers a unique insight into the Christian life, its joys and trials, its opportunities and struggles.

Max McClean’s lively, heartfelt reading is taken from a slightly updated, easier-to-follow text that retains the style and form of the original.

Bunyan's book is 2nd to the Bible itself in terms of it's delightful poetry and revealing truth but to have Max McLean narrate it is the cream of the crop. Incredible voice. A captivating narrator, yet a soothing voice, insomuch that, from time to time, McLean shuts my very own eyes closed for me and allows me, through the writings of men of old, to simultaeneously receive holy wisdom and a peace for my heart to rest upon at nightfall. I can say, with sincerity that McLean is downright my favourite narrator and I would recommend him to anybody. Theologically sound and highly knowledgeable.
