Danica Lawson a brilliant geneticist who develops Everlife, a life extending medication that is highly addictive, as well as its antidote. The owner of Sendaxa, who funded her research uses her medication's addictive powers to gain control and power over all of society, including the government. She's hit over the head very hard and develops amnesia and now has to remember the antidote in order to save the world. The dual narrators Ri Paige, Curtis Michael Holland do a really good job in telling

It took me a while to wrap my head around the story because, I felt, it started in the middle. Actually this plot structure makes sense under the circumstances. Danica has amnesia so the author employs flashbacks and narrated memories to explain what happened to bring the characters to this point. It is dystopian and also thriller-ish, in a way. Addiction to a drug that Danica has a hand in creating has basically wiped out society as we know it. Lots of potential for an interesting series!!

The start of the Sendaxa Chronicles, World-renowned geneticist Danica Lawson has no recollection of what she has done as her memory is gone after an attack, she does not even recognize her soldier husband Maverick. The story is well written with a very good storyline that held my interest, with its drama, mystery, twists, turns and finding her missing past. The story is well worth reading and listening to Ri Paige, Curtis Michael Holland narrate this story.

In her youth, she would sneak into her mother’s bedroom and read the romance novels stashed on the bookshelf, cementing her love of HEAs.
