About this audiobook

I should not still be hung up on my high school girlfriend.

I’m a billionaire, with a penthouse in New York City, a private plane, and was recently crowned one of Manhattan’s most eligible bachelors.

She’s engaged to my rival. A real prick of a guy whose family is about as famous as mine. So, pictures of the happy couple are plastered everywhere, and it’s driving me insane.

The last time I spoke to her was my freshman year of college, and I never imagined I’d bump into her at a crowded restaurant in the busiest city in the world. But fate had other plans, and when I innocently suggest that the press wouldn’t bother with her wedding plans if she held it in our small Alaskan town where we grew up, I had no idea she’d take me seriously.

Now, I find myself helping her plan the wedding at my dad’s luxury resort while the town’s gossip app follows our every move, afraid that their golden boy will get his heart broken twice by the same girl.

But that’s impossible because she stole my heart when we were fifteen, and never gave it back.

I thought The Trouble With Runaway Brides was the last book in this series but the way this book ended has me thinking. This book is so good as all of Piper Rayne's books are. I liked when Lance and Kenzie finally told their feelings. I really like when whole cabin scene. I don't want to give away the book too much but the best parts were in Alaska. This book is a great listen, the narrators did an amazing job.

I love Piper's books! She does an amazing job pulling me in from the first chapter. I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Lance and Kenzie. Their relationship was messy, but you couldn't help but root for them. I loved getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life. Aiden and Emily did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life.

I've been looking forward to Lance’s story since the previous book. This was more than I expected. It was so much more than the usual romance. The tension of the slow burn in this one was spectacular. You could feel their chemistry but also the pain of their past. The story focuses on the characters as individuals and their deep history. The two don’t reunite until late in the book. I enjoyed the forced proximity of the two planning her wedding, to his college rival, which added to the tension and really showed Logan’s character and how much his break-up with Kenzie impacted his life. This second chance romance was everything you expect when it comes to “it’s always been you”. There is no cheating and a very slow burn that kept me in a state of anticipation for what was going to happen next. I listened to the audiobook and loved the duet narration. The narrators pulled me in and brought to life all the emotions and feelings of both the characters and the story.
