About this audiobook

The Time Machine is a science fiction novella by H. G. Wells, published in 1895 and written as a frame narrative.Ā

One of the most renowned works of science fiction, The Time Machine reflects on the adventures of The Time Traveller-a man who constructs a machine which allows him to explore what the future has to offer. As he travels to as far as 802,701 AD, The Time Traveller encounters a world dominated by two types of creatures- beautiful and fragile Eloi and repulsive and brutal Morlocks. His journey then turns quickly from a series of observations into a dangerous quest to return back home, as he realizes that Morlocks have stolen his machine. A dystopian novel that fascinates the readers from the very beginning, The Time Machine both reflects Wellsā€™s sceptical outlook on the future of the Late Victorian England and makes the reader meditate on the future of our civilization.

Famous works of the author Herbert Wells: "The Time Machine",Ā "The War of the Worlds", "The War in the Air", "The Island of Dr. Moreau", "The Complete Science Fiction Treasury of H.G. Wells", "The Invisible Man", "When the Sleeper Wakes", "The First Men in the Moon", "The Food of the Gods", "The Magic Shop".

Narrator sounds like she's never read the book before, her words are stilted and awkward in many places. The recording includes sentences that are repeated after a sound like finger clicks. The sound quality is decidedly mono and is at times a challenge to listen to. Waste of money!

Interesting book. Its a little bit lost in the world compared to more modern books, but when you think that this book coined the phrase "Time Travel" and lead to probably everything else written about it since, thats quite some book! Was hoping for more of a "reveal" or climax having not known anything about it before starting. The audio reading is awful, so bad its funny at times! Its like a teacher reading it out in class, mistakes and all. Gives it an odd charm!

THE READER of this book can't pronounce words properly. It's as if they dragged a semi-literate teenager in off the streets to do a reading assessment. Why anyone would employ her to record this book is a mystery to me. Deleted. I'm glad I only paid Ā£0.04p for it.
