Thus Thomas Covenant, accompanied by Linden Avery, begins his search for the One Tree aboard the giantship Starfare’s Gem. Stephen R. Donaldson is the New York Times bestselling author of the original six volumes of the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, as well as several science fiction and mystery novels. He lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
