About this audiobook
The Emperor of China has such a vivid dream of his true love, that he is able to describe her to an artist who paints her portrait. A courtier then takes the picture of the emperor’s dream girl, and goes out in search of her in the real world.
Although this story is set in China, it actually comes from Persia. Bertie found it in a book called “Flowers from a Persian Garden and Other Papers by William Alexander Clouston” (1890) and he thought it was an exceptionally charming story. He’s rewritten his own version in modern English.

this narrator's voice is ANNOYING!! you can hear the saliva in her voice and a loud swallow as she's reading - it is NOT very relaxing. also, she doesn't do voices very well - the characters are from China, she gives the emperors messenger an English accent while giving the Prince a completely different accent from who knows where! I liked the story but the narrator honestly ruined it.

The story was ok as far old short stories go, but I have no idea why the narrator decided to use accents from the UK for characters that are supposed to be Chinese.

three stars because I found it kind of boring for everyone saying scam you have to put your credit card on Google Play Books even if the book is free to show that you're in the United States because of copyright issues it has nothing to do with charging your card my card has never been charged for a free book
