Marnie, Tina and Lee are in their twenties when they share a house in Bondi. Each is running away from something. Marnie, wild, privileged and impetuous, is escaping from the stifling conservatism of Melbourne - and a father who will mark her relationship with men forever. Tina, driven to leave Brisbane and her migrant background, promises herself she'll own a home on the harbour by the time she's thirty. But what if the price of success is too high? A quarter of a century later, the three friends learn that dreams come with no guarantees, and the city is a much more dangerous place...

Jennifer Bacia is an Australian writer of fiction and non-fiction. A keen traveller, Jennifer has lived in Rome, London and Los Angeles, and visited much of former Eastern Europe as well as Asia. After completing her Bachelor of Arts degree from Queensland University, she worked in the fields of education, welfare and corporate management. Jennifer lives with her husband and dog in a waterside home on Queensland's Gold Coast.

Marie-Louise Walker has worked extensively in Australian television, film and theatre. She trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and has appeared in stage productions in both the UK and Australia. Her work includes roles in popular outdoor productions including Romeo and Juliet, Alice in Wonderland and Macbeth. Her television work includes roles in The Saddle Club, Blue Heelers, Water Rats and Ocean Girl and she has loved giving voice to books for over 12 years now.
