Precious Memories

 The story of Thomas Briggs is one of faith and perseverance. Despite the physical hardships, due to an injury that plagued him with pain for many years, he did not lose his hope and faith in the personal revelations he received. Thomas was keen to recognize the power of the gospel, both in spiritual matters as well as earthly matters. Determined to have his family join the body of the Saints in the Salt Lake Valley and participate in the saving ordinances of the temple for his family and for the dead, Thomas did not lose sight of his eternal goals. His is a legacy and testimony that the Lord does not forget those who put their faith in His will.

George L. Farrell served a mission in England. A brief account is given in the miraculous healing and conversion story of Nellie Challis and her family as well as the Clark family. As George followed the promptings of the Spirit, he was able to remove barriers to baptism and touch the hearts of many who otherwise would not have joined the church.

The conversion story of John Anderson, written by his daughter is given. A baby born to a mother of advanced age as a result of a promise in a priesthood blessing proves there is nothing the Lord cannot do for His faithful saints.

As and elder in Europe, John P. Hayes was preaching in a public area when a publican enticed a drunkard to harass him. This short story testifies of the fulfillment of the resulting prophecy given by Elder Hayes.
