Lara had always wished she was a dog and one day, just for a short time, she actually became one. This is how it happened. In a mulberry brick house on the harbour that Lara explores while her mother cleans, Lara meets Pierre, a boy about her age with a beautiful antique puppet theatre. With his puppets, he tells her a story about a boy whose family has been eaten by wolves. The boy is lost. He needs to find his grandmother. Lara takes the part of a dog, but suddenly she can no longer tell where she ends and Dog begins. Or is she Wolf? Caught up in Pierre's story, Lara has to fight to protect her identity – and her new friend. Can she help Pierre find his way home?

Despre autor

Ursula Dubosarsky is widely regarded as one of the most talented and original writers in Australia today. She is the author of over 40 books for children and young adults, which have won a number of national prizes, including the NSW, Victorian, South Australian and Queensland Premier's Literary Awards. Alongside her fiction for older children, Ursula has a wonderful talent for picture books such as the highly popular The Terrible Plop and Too Many Elephants in This House, which have both been adapted as successful stage productions. She has also written the non-fiction Word Spy books about the English language, both of which also won major national awards. Ursula has a PhD in English literature from Macquarie University and lives in Sydney with her family.

Maisy Wright-Smith is the voice of Alice Miranda, in the animated feature Alice-Miranda Friends Forever which aired in November 2019. Maisy was born in 2007 and loves being a professional actor and voice over, enjoys acting classes at school and on the weekend and can pronounce those big words some of us get stuck on! She’s a state level track and cross-country runner, plays the flute beautifully and loves to read.
