The family insists that the death was from complications of childbirth. Sarah disagrees. The situation escalates when a second death in the tenements nearly leads to riots in the streets as political factions and organized crime take sides and square off over wild rumors and newspaper accusations. Edgar Award-nominated author Victoria Thompson writes the Gaslight Mystery series, set in turn-of-the-century New York City and featuring midwife Sarah Brandt. Victoria teaches in the Seton Hill University master's program in writing popular fiction. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and a very spoiled little dog.
Callie Beaulieu has been an actress for several decades. Classically trained, she is predominantly a theater actress, and her work has been seen around the country. Callie recently returned to the US after spending nearly a decade living in the Caribbean. She is a proud member of Actors Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA.
