Candi Sary's novel Black Crow White Lie won Reader Views Literary Award, a CIBA, and was first runner-up in the Eric Hoffer Book Award. A mother of two adult children, she lives in Southern California with her husband, a dog, a cat, and several ducks.

Jennifer Pickens has been a storyteller since childhood, when she could often be found acting out the adventures of the characters that she created.
