The characters are interesting and likeable, the plot is exciting and suspenseful, and the world-building is skillful and intriguing. This is classic urban fantasy done right. The story works well as an audiobook. Felicity Munroe did a great job with narration. Her performance was well paced and easy to understand, expressing appropriate mood and emotions, and her voices suited the characters. If you like urban fantasy, I recommend this.

When not in the classroom, she shares a quiet country home with her husband Bill and their cats, and enjoys writing, reading, traveling, spoiling her nephew, and singing karaoke.
