About this audiobook

Sometimes what you’re running from is exactly what you need

Olivia Chevalier is perfectly happy living a quiet life of solitude with her two cats in the tempestuous countryside of Brittany.

Olivia’s peace is disrupted when heartbreaker extraordinaire Marie Dievart moves in to the holiday home next door after an event at work makes her flee her everyday life.

Olivia hates having a neighbour and Marie is put off by Olivia’s cranky ways.

But maybe these two women have more in common than they first believe.

Best-selling lesbian romance author Harper Bliss brings you a slow-burn opposites-attract story about the power of connection and opening yourself up to the possibility of love.

I am honestly not sure why everyone has placed Harper Bliss' writing in a box. She is extraordinarily talented and That Woman Next Door highlights her ability to take two characters that most would not relate to in the slightest nor would they believe would be compatible for a relationship and prove them wrong. I had the opportunity to listen to That Woman Next Door and Abby Craden did a remarkable job, as always, at creating two very distinct voices that was easy to track with the alternating first person narrative. Though I did not relate to the personalities of either Olivia nor Marie, I did easily and quickly relate to the ideals of independence of both woman and how individualism duels with the notion of independence. Again, extraordinary writing by Ms. Bliss that goes beyond the superficial level of romance and starts knocking down the ideas that anyone wanting a successful relationship will relate to- relationships aren't about easy sex but about finding in the other person the component that makes you better, more complete, happy and confident in your individualism. That Woman Next Door may be Harper Bliss' best work yet and I only say that because I haven't read all of her work. I am so proud that she is sharing this talent with the world as a LesFic story and love knowing that there are strong women like Olivia and Marie who fill the pages with love and support for each other and for themselves. I highly recommend this story to all readers looking for a complete and complex story.
