His outdoors column has appeared in the New York Times for more than twenty-five years. He has contributed frequently to Food & Wine and is the author of Pig Perfect and Culinary Intelligence.

Greg Schwipps, a creative writing professor and novelist, has been fishing for more than forty years. His fishing articles have appeared in publications such as In-Fisherman, and his recent work focuses on introducing kids to the outdoors.

Basil Sands is an award-winning narrator working between the Chugach Mountains and Pacific Ocean in Anchorage, Alaska. A former US Marine, he has also been a logger, carpenter, scoutmaster, wilderness rescue medic, senior IT guy, and novelist, and was a minister for over twenty-five years.
