About this audiobook

For seasons, I have waited for her-my perfect mate. In a tribe full of happy couples, I am alone. But I am not content to remain this way. There are no eligible unmated females left, so I will do whatever it takes to bring females back to our tribe . . . even if it means doing something wrong. Even if it means I must purchase my mate on the intergalactic black market. I will do anything to possess her, to claim her as my own. But will my ruthless move turn my female against me before we ever meet? Can she ever forgive a male that bought her freedom? Contains mature themes.

This is such a wonderful story. There is so much trauma packed into this one. Beck Has to undergo a lot of personal growth in this one. I love the depth that characters have on this particular one. The author has a true talent for very diverse characters with amazing strengths and different personalities that mesh so well together. I love how the Qwahee determines the best fit. Some of the parts of this book made me laugh.

4.5 stars — If you told me one of my faves in this series would be Bek’s story, I would have laughed in your face. But here we are. What’s strange about all that is that Bek was still a jerk at many parts of the book…but we got to see him grow and learn and change, and we got to see that deep inside he did have a good heart. He just wasn’t that great at empathy and imagining how other people would see a situation. I will admit, I thought he was an idiot, but since I knew the tribe was good and that no one would harm the humans, I could see the good and kind of got confused by the level of anger he faced. And that’s where Ellie came in. As she taught Bek, so she taught me. It was a truly poignant moment in many ways. God I felt for Ellie. I can’t even imagine what her life had been like. I always find it fascinating how different people react to similar situations, and Ellie was her own brand of unique. She was both brave and scared, fierce and vulnerable. I loved how much her experience taught her to appreciate the little things, and I really thought her own development over the course of the story was interesting. I wasn’t sure how their story and romance would progress, but I was actually sucked in for the whole ride. I appreciated the patience that Bek showed, and the trust that Ellie developed. I loved the way he taught her skills, and didn’t make her feel silly for her fears. And now I’m eminently fascinated to see what the stories of the other humans will be! This series really has surprised me in what it gives me. Some stories resonate (*snort*) more than others, but that just means that I’m seeing all sorts of different kinds of people.
