Sackville is a stage, film and television actor, as well as a voice artist. He graduated from the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art and went on to play leading and supporting roles in regional theatre, the West End, the National Theatre and with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Sackville has appeared on film and television in The Crown, Call the Midwife, Genius, The Secret of Crickley Hall, Midsomer Murders and Rosemary & Thyme.
