Dr. Ann Colbert has practiced medicine in Eastern Kentucky for almost four decades. Originally from Michigan, she moved to Kentucky in 1985 to fulfill a National Health Service Corps commitment and stayed in the beautiful state. She worked as a family physician for many years and estimates she delivered five or six hundred babies. In 2002, she became board certified in hospice and palliative care and over the next fifteen years, assisted in the care of nearly as many patients at the end of their lives in this rural community at the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. She's also worked internationally as a volunteer clinician in Mexico, Zambia and Belize. Dr. Colbert has written and published several non-fiction articles about medicine. This is her first venture into fiction but she is working on the next novel for her series entitled "Doctors Reading Dictionaries".
