About this app

UserLAnd is an open-source app which allows you to run several Linux distributions like Ubuntu,
Debian, and Kali.

- No need to root your device.
- Use a built-in terminal to access your favorite shells.
- Easily connect to VNC sessions for a graphical experience.
- Easy setup for several common Linux distributions, like Ubuntu and Debian.
- Easy setup for several common Linux applications, like Octave and Firefox.
- A way to experiment and learn Linux and other common software tools from the palm of your hand.

UserLAnd was created and is being actively maintained by the folks behind the popular Android
application, GNURoot Debian. It is meant as a replacement for the original GNURoot Debian app.

When UserLAnd first launches, it presents a list of common distributions and Linux applications.
Clicking one of these then leads to a series of set-up prompts. Once these have been completed,
UserLAnd will download and set up files required to start the task that has been selected. Based on
the set-up, you will then be connected to your Linux distribution or application in a terminal or
VNC viewing Android application.

Great app! I am using it for half a year now. Already the terminal is fun. But having a full fledged desktop environment you can use directly on the phone or connect to from another computer on a bigger screen - that is wow! I even installed RStudio on my phone. And recently I made the leap to the current Ubuntu 24.04 without major problems. Some minor flaws, like exporting the filesystem (say for backup) works, but the way back does not (that is restoring it in UserLAnd). But overall just WOW!

Probably one of te best in term of being more user friendly than the rest. It's acting out from time to time, but you can just shut it down and run it again from the main window. A bit of advice, buy an android compatible keyboard-mouse combo or get an OTG connector and plug in a keyboard and a mouse. You'll thank me later!

I just bought it today to test it out a few things and was working until it stopped for what ever reason now I can't install the os to try out again because it keeps saying I don't have enough storage even though I do, I tried to move It to a sdcard but it doesn't have the option that's dumb It would be better if it allows you to move to sdcard please make it allow it to move to the sdcard
