Place finger on phone’s camera to show resting heart rate.
Blood circulation to your finger tip may be altered if press hard on camera lens.

How often should you use Instant Heart Rate?
For accurate measurement, Instant Heart Rate should be used daily to measure heartbeat or pulse. Recommended to tag your heart rate after sleeping or during workouts to separate resting heart rate from workout heart rate.

What is a normal heart rate or heartbeat?
According to American Heart Association (AHA) and the Mayo Clinic, a normal resting heart beat ranges from 60 to 100 beats per minute (BPM). Heart rate can be affected by stress, anxiety, depression, emotions, activity level, fitness level, body composition, and medication use. Knowing heart rate is important heart-health gauge and cardiovascular metric. Heart rate variability is important in measuring stress on your body.

More accurate than other camera based heart rate apps I've tried. A great feature is that it shows you the view through your camera lens so you can see if your finger placement is right. However, the ads in the free version are atrocious. You often get a full screen ad right after the measurement, with earsplittingly loud audio. Also connection to Google Fit doesn't work. The phone blocks the app saying it tried to access sensitive data in my Google account, though I granted all permissions.

Two reasons NOT to get this: 1. I bought the full version years ago. That was supposed to be a one-off payment. Now I'm being asked to pay several pounds a month for what is supposed to be mine already. 2. It doesn't work. It doesn't work at all. It worked brilliantly on the first mobile I used it with, ok on the second, but is completely incapable of picking up a heartbeat on any of the mobiles I've had since, and I mean premium android phones from Samsung and Sony. Down from five stars to one.

Hi Rob, If you previously purchased the full version of the application please make sure you are downloading that version, on the playstore it is a different version than the free. For technical issues please contact support at [email protected] and we would be happy to assist. Thanks Azumio Support

2019-08-31: last version did fix Google Fit synchronisation but is there a way to sync older data? I have data logged in Instant Hear Rate App since 2012 that are not synced in Google Fit. If you fix it, I'll update my rating to 5/5. Thanks ---- I've been using this app for more than 2 years but I'm now switching to the Runstatic Heart Rate App because they allow you to remember all data and have an average.
