I have had a subscription for this app for over 5 years now, and I have generally enjoyed all the updates. The most recent update, however, doesn't allow the user to set a custom audiobook speed above 2×, which is rather annoying. After all, I tend to listen to books at 2.5x or 3x speed. I hope Storytel can readjust this update and, in doing so, maintain a user-friendly platform.

Keep in mind that all but the most expensive subscriptions don't allow you to listen to audio and read text at the same time, functionality that I expected. And as I understand it, even on Unlimited, you will need two devices to listen to audio at the same time as text. What century do we live in? Also, the display of many books in Dutch left an unpleasant feeling as if they were taken from the Internet - completely different formats and types of display for each. Useless app.

UPDATE: i've used storytel for years now but they've recently blocked listening speed faster than 2x and it's infuriating. that was my reason for keeping storytel over other similar services. bad take It's a lovely & useful app, i just wish it had more english books. Since i live in the netherlands i often only have access to dutch variants of english book series (like ones that are english originally), which i won't use as i'm an english reader. They have now lost me to audible thanks to this.
