The Transport Fuel Equivalent (M.I. of Fuel) is a measure to support development in insular Greece. The purpose of the measure is to compensate for the increased cost of sea transport of fuel to the islands compared to the corresponding land transport. Beneficiaries of the measure are islanders and island businesses with a Unique Islander Number (MAN) or a Unique Island Business Number (MANE) of the following islands:
Agathonisi, Agios Efstratios, Agistri, Alonissos, Ammouliani, Amorgos, Anafi, Antikythera, Antiparos, Arkioi, Astypalaia, Gavdos, Donousa, Elafonisos, Ereikousa, Heraklia, Thymaina, Ithaca, Ios, Ikaria, Kalymnos, Karpathos, Kasos, Kea, Kimolos, Kinaros, Koufonisia, Kythira, Kythnos, Levitha, Lipsi, Leros, Limnos, Mathraki, Marathi, Meganisi, Megisti, Milos, Nisyros, Othoni, Onouses, Paxos, Patmos, Samothrace, Serifos, Sikinos, Sifnos, Skiathos, Skopelos, Skyros, Symi, Schinoussa, Telendos, Tilos, Folegandros, Fourni, Halki, Psara and Pserimos.
The right to use this application (e-MIK) only has the Fuel Stations operating on the above islands of the pilot application of the measure "Transportation Fuel Equivalent (M.I. Fuel) ".
Exceptionally the right to use this application is also available to service stations that operate:
- In the Municipalities of Sfakia in Crete and Kantanou - Selino in Crete, for the service of the municipality of Gavdos
- To the Municipality of Chios, for the service of the prefecture of Oinoussa
- In the Municipalities of North and Central Corfu, for the service of the prefectures of Ereikousa, Othon and Mathraki.
The direct registration of liquid fuel supply documents (receipts and invoices) in the Information System (IS) of MI Fuels is done by the gas station owners at the gas stations operating in the above islands and municipalities, in the manner defined in a relevant joint decision of the Ministers of Finance - Development and Investments - Shipping and Islands Policy.
Participation of gas stations in the MI Fuel information system:
a) The General Secretariat of the Aegean and Island Policy has at the gas stations of the above islands, access codes with which they are connected to the action's PS.
b) In order to activate their account in the PS of the action, the gas stations must accept the terms of their participation in the action, after first contacting the General Secretariat of the Aegean and Island Policy through the information system.
c) Through their PS account, gas stations gain access to the codes required to use this Mobile Phone Application. The application is installed on any device at the gas station, which has an Android operating system (smartphone, tablet, etc.).
d) The operation of the application requires the device to have access to the internet, regardless of the existence or not of a telephone connection.
e) Through the mobile or tablet application, the fuel receipts are entered in the action's SOP following the following procedure:
(i) scanning the QR CODE of the beneficiary's MAN/MANE card and
(ii) scanning the QR CODE of each receipt.
The registration process by the gas station owners must be carried out up to the day after the issuance of the fuel purchase document.
