An interesting sidegrade to the original; in some ways its better, with the progression and trials often a lot more interesting than the events and multiplier stacking of the main game. However, between a lacking amount of environments, some bugs, a premium pass and a number of recent changes (things like a bug where audio unmutes on opening the game, the starter pack purchase being plastered onto the main menu, and similar), I can't outright call it a better game. Worth trying, at least

Absolutely beautiful game. I played the original subway surfers since the start, and this feels like an absolutely incredible continuation of the series. It keeps all the core gameplay mechanics while adding fresh new looks, mechanics, and a much better feel to the game. The overall polish is amazing and the game feels like it has so much life. The world feels more dynamic and individual characters have different animations, the scale of the game feels much bigger than the original.

I am really enjoying this game, love the graphics and style. There are a few improvements I think would rocket this game though: connectivity with friends, feels very empty and lonely. Unique character trials that reset every season. The character highscores are saved but are also reset each season to gain rewards again. A paid battlepass for a game lacking socially seems pointless. I never see anything about this game either, bad publicity isn't helping and i can see why most things are paid
