About this game

Hoshi (ꘟ, Japanese for star) is a free and competitive Star Battle game with daily challenges. Star Battle, also known as Two Not Touch, is regularly published in the New York Times logic puzzle section. If you enjoy playing tricky puzzles and brain-teasing games and seek a new challenge, then you should give Hoshi a try.

If you have never played the Star Battle logic game before, donā€™t worry the rules are straight forward:
Similar to other logic puzzles you have a grid that you need to fill. In a normal 2 star Two Not Touch game each row, column, and region must have exactly 2 stars. Stars are not allowed to touch, even not diagonally.

Hoshi includes Star Battles with 1-5 stars, but games with more stars are yet to come šŸ˜‰

Hoshi offers you:
- Everyday we release a new number game (daily puzzle challenge)
- Track your solving time and compete against other players (leaderboards)
- There is also a weekly challenge for geniuses (3 star plus games)
- There are 5 different difficulties (easy to diabolical)
- Packs with hand-selected logic puzzle (e.g. for beginners)
- Guide with solving strategies
- Profile with stats about your skill level & progress

Coming soon:
- Add your friends and play with them a numbers puzzle
- Star Battle games with more than 5 stars

At first i thought it was a really nice puzzle game. The game is neither too complicated nor easy and the app is easy to navigate. However, then I saw that ALL the other levels except two levels of each pack were paywalled. Every one of them have seperate fees. If i only had to pay once, i'd be fine with that. But in this case, i'd rather not play. Edit: oh. So sorry, i didn't see that :'))) in this case i have no complaints, it's a good game šŸ‘

Hey, not sure if you saw it, but if you go for 1-year subscription you get all packs for free šŸ˜œ

The game is fun and honestly a good challenge. I only gave 3 stars because a lot of it is paid content and pro membership stuff so mostly only the daily and weekly puzzle are free. Edit: I realize that it is not easy to make and run an app, and I understand that you need to get back what you put in. I am not against supporting developers, just unable to. I only wish you could buy packs as a difficulty level set instead of each one individually

Hey Kairi, thanks for your feedback. You currently get 365 Dailies + 55 Weeklies + 50 Pack games for free per year. Isn't that quite a lot šŸ˜œ? I would love to offer everything for free, but as you can imagine, running & developing Hoshi costs me money (and a lot of my free time) šŸ„²

Edit: extremely buggy lately, won't let me open daily puzzles yet punishes me for solving it the following dayšŸ˜  Nice puzzles, but the advanced tutorials offer little/poor explanation that seem to contradict the precious instruction. I'm sure there is logic that explains this, but the app doesn't, and phrasing it like an algebra equation is not very transparent. The free puzzles are nice, at least past the easy mindless beginner ones, but the pay structure of per pack does add up fast. Ads toošŸ˜”

Last time I checked bugs & problems don't solve themself by writing a bad review. There is a support mail, you can contact me there with some additional infos. I am usually really nice, even to people that use the reviews to let steam off šŸ˜œ

What's new

New feature šŸ”„: You can now reset packs if you want to replay them.
