According to Sheikh Ali Baras, if Ratib Habib Umar is read to residents of a village or to a family, then that village or family will be cared for by Allah with very strict pets. Furthermore, Sheikh Ali said: "I was told by some people that when they were afraid to face robbers who would plunder their homes, they read Ratib Habib Umar so that their houses were not looted by the robbers even though there were 15 of them".
